I took care of my grandmother who had dementia. She did have aides but I did the basics... light housekeeping, grocery shopping, taking her out for a ride, medication management, bringing her to her appointments. After my grandmother passed I decided this was something I really enjoy doing so I applied here and got my first companion job! I was a companion to an elderly lady in Amherst who had dementia. We would talk, sing, play games, watch TV, walk around her cul-de-sac, and mostly laugh! I had been with her for almost 4 yrs but she ended up in a nursing home where she got covid. I've been with many people over the yrs since her and really enjoy being with them. I am NOT certified or licensed or CPR/first aid trained. I am a COMPANION (which includes many things) and I do this because I enjoy it. ** I am Covid vaccinated and boosted **

Donna was a sweet and caring companion for my mom , and our dogs . She was helpful and attentive . She is a sweet soul with a big heart . We had her with us for almost 6 years , she felt like family … still does ❤️
