For 10 years I was the live-in caregiver to my mother until her death in 2019. Some of my duties included: -Taking her to recurring medical appointments, physical therapy & dialysis treatments -Assisting with mobility (transfers from car to wheelchair/wheelchair to home hospital bed.) -Performing aftercare for numerous surgeries to include medication management -Assisting with toileting and activities of daily living -Light meal prep and housekeeping, laundry, grocery shopping, pet care -Received certification as a Personal Support Specialist to gain knowledge to best support her following aortic valve replacement recovery -Taking her on trips out of house (whenever possible) to see the sights/something enjoyable so her life was not just hospitals/doctors offices/dialysis treatments
