About Destiny

I currently work at a nursing home and I deal with residents with dementia. Some of the residents are in their early, mid, and late stages of dementia. The residents were all around the same age, I would say. I think most of them were around 90 or past it. In my list of responsibilities, I would play games with them, feed them, and just make sure they were comfortable where ever they were. Some of them were in their late stages of dementia they would randomly take their clothes off and I would help them put them back on. Some of the activities would include bingo and the letter game. I found both games to be a big hit because with bingo they loved when they win prizes and with the letter games it got them thinking and using their brain. What makes me happy about working with senior citizens is seeing them smile and say that they are happy. This one lady, we call her Midge, I love her to death. She tells me "you're such a wonderful girl" it's little things like that-that makes me happy about my job and is telling me that I'm doing something right.
