Experience: 9 yrs
Nurturing young minds is my greatest passion, ignited by years of positive babysitting experiences and a deep desire to support families. My nine years of experience have equipped me with the skills to provide engaging and reliable care. I am patient, creative, and approachable. I have First Aid Training and CPR Training. As a certified teacher with Early Child Development coursework, I create fun learning experiences. I enjoy playing outdoor sports and board games. I'm comfortable enforcing household rules and will always follow your preferred communication method, including daily reports. I am happy to help with cooking and swimming supervision. I have a car and am comfortable with pets. I find joy in witnessing a child's growth, and I look forward to the opportunity to care for your little one.
I’m sharing this after a great deal of reflection. After a full week of back-and-forth through the Care app and text, we finally scheduled a phone call. The conversation was going well—until she asked me to confirm whether the role truly required a part-time relocation to another state. This requirement was clearly stated in the job posting and had already been acknowledged in prior messages. When I said that yes, relocation was necessary, she abruptly hung up. At first, I assumed it was accidental. I even called back twice, thinking surely, after all this effort, no one would end a conversation that way without a simple, “No thank you, this isn’t a fit for me.” But it became clear that the call had simply been ended. More than anything, I believe parents and guardians are looking for people of strong character. This work requires it. Admitting a mistake takes a measure of bravery. Saying “this isn’t a fit” requires the ability to hold a boundary with clarity and respect. We all feel overwhelmed at times. But the time and energy that go into screening candidates—and for candidates, evaluating employers—are significant. None of us gets that time back. These aren’t small things; they are essential qualities in someone I trust to care for my children, especially in moments when they themselves may feel overwhelmed or need guidance.
