Hello, my name is Desiree but most people call me Desi for short. I started working with adults with disabilities at age 13 and have continued with a wide rage of different environments. I have worked within a group home setting, a work/ community based day program and I have work in a family based setting extending support and knowledge to families adjusting to "new normals" along with individuals that have had a challenging time accepting their new or progressing disability. Most of my experience is within the older community yet I have worked with teens, children, and supported young adults on their journey into their new lifestyle of adulthood. I am a very patient person with many learned skills, knowledge and a variety of techniques to expand and support the process of motivating many people on a variety of different function levels to succeed to the highest of their ability and to experience the beauty of life in all aspects.
