About Derek

Hey there! My name's Derek (AJ). I'm a college sophomore studying education because, honestly, working with kids is my thing. They're hilarious, creative, and somehow manage to do 12 activities in five minutes and I'm totally along for the ride. I've babysat for families on Care, worked with amazing kids who are nonverbal, have autism, or ADHD, and loved every moment of it. Whether we're coloring, running around, or chilling with cartoons, I'm in. When I'm not teaching or chasing kids, you'll probably find me running, hiking, or at the gym (trying to convince myself I enjoy cardio). But I'm also perfectly happy staying in by a fireplace, eating Mexican food, and watching Bob's Burgers or Once Upon a Time. I'm outgoing, goofy, and friendly, but also grounded in my faith I'm a Christian who believes Jesus showed the ultimate love by giving His life for us. I also have a little brother, my road dawg and best friend we go to the gym, pray together, and always have each other's back
