About Delia

I have over 35 years of teaching publically, privately, tutoring, and childcare experience. I have a degree in an early childhood education and specialize in reading and language acquisition. I bring a deep understanding of how children learn and what helps them academically especially when it comes to reading, which is my area of expertise, focusing on phonics. Throughout my career I've supported students all across grade levels and with all subjects, tailoring my approach to a wide range of needs. My downfall is high school chemistry and math. However, I have extensive experience working with learners who have autism and dyslexia as well as those that are hearing impaired and need language acquisition. I use a blended sign language and speech approach that is always student-centered encouraging confidence and engagement while building key skills step by step. I'd love the opportunity to bring my experience and passion for education to your children.
