My father was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and lived with our family for 7 years until he passed. I was his sole caretaker. I managed his medical & dental appointments, as well as providing daily personal care. I ensured he took his medication daily and spent hours daily trying to keep him both physically and mentally engaged. Prior to caring for my Father, I was responsible for transportation, and total personal care, including toileting, personal hygiene and dressing for a 91-year-old Senior bringing her to her Senior Center activities. I'm a college graduate, married for 27 years with 3 amazing children. I was also a nanny for 6 years to a family with 6 sons who were all homeschooled by their mother.
