This person was supposed to get me out of bed using a Hoyer lift because recent surgery necessitated that form of transferring until recovery. After a few hours of her helping me in bed, she announced that she would not get me out of bed because her back was hurting, and that I should just pay her and she would leave. When I said that I would pay her after she finished her job, she threatened to call the police in order for me to pay her. I was fine with that, because she had not completed her job. This person actually did call the police because she insisted that I pay her on the spot. I am bedridden and unable to pay people until my family submits the payment within a day or so. After trying to persuade her to use the Hoyer lift to complete her job responsibilities, with her refusing, the police explained that she would get paid after the family received notification about the hours worked. This woman only made a bad situation worse as anyone who has been laid up in bed after surgery would know. Who needs the aggravation added to the already miserable situation? I do not recommend hiring her for anything but perhaps companionship but only if you are prepared to pay her on the spot whether or not she does the job.
