About Deb

Hi there! I am an educator with 8 years of domestic and international teaching experience. I hold a Maryland Advanced Professional Teaching License and have experience teaching early childhood, elementary, and middle school. I have two Masters degrees and am a Fulbright DAST alumna. My primary focus for lessons is to make learning fun, yet focused. I like to include games as often as possible, as I believe strongly in the power of gamified retention in learning. With individualized instruction, I use data and student performance to create a structured scope and sequence to strengthen areas of need. This allows families and students to see a clear progression of skills. My primary teaching skill areas include reading instruction for early childhood through middle school. I am Orton Gillingham-trained and have taught a variety of Foundational reading curriculums. I am also adept in teaching writing and English. I look forward to working with you and your scholar!
