About Debra

Hi, my name is Debbie. I've been a professional caregiver with a major homecare organization for the last 6 years and have been doing homecare privately for the last decade. I'm experienced working with the elderly and disabled; having been an activities assistant/hospice worker at St Jude nursing home to, on a more personal level, being the sole caregiver for my own mom prior to her passing away as well as taking care of my husband, who had become disabled prior to his passing. I've seen firsthand how emotionally devastating it is for people's bodies to begin to work against them. It's essential that they remain encouraged about all they still have the ability to do. Social interaction and emotional comforting go a long way toward maintaining their feelings of self-worth. My mission in life is to make people's life easier; and that everyone should know that they're loved, wanted, appreciated and respected regardless of their ability or their age.
