Debbie took care of my mom for over 6 years. She was there through the ups and downs of Alzheimer’s. She was reliable, kind and supportive. She took my mom on walks and outings but gave her space when she needed it too. It can be very difficult to find someone who understands Alzheimer’s but Debbie knew just when to push and when to back off or redirect. She sang songs with my mom, made sure she was warm when she was chilled, and put on her favorite movies and shows when she needed to be entertained. She also encouraged my mom to eat and drink by making meals and snacks for her. I am so thankful that we had Debbie there for the last several years of my mom’s journey, She was a great caregiver.
