Hi! I am a licensed Virginia teacher and former special education teacher with a passion for helping students build confidence and a love of learning. As an educational consultant, I provide individualized reading instruction and academic support. I have experience working with students with ADHD, autism, dyslexia, slow processing speed, emotional/behavioral challenges, and intellectual disabilities. I identify where students are struggling and create targeted plans to build skills, confidence, and independence. I hold a bachelor's degree in Psychology, a master's degree in Special Education, and am trained in evidence-based structured literacy, including LETRS and Orton-Gillingham-aligned approaches. I also assist families in collaborating with school teams, including IEP/504 processes, to support student success. I love partnering with students and families to make learning meaningful, enjoyable, and empowering-and I'd be thrilled to support your child's journey!
Deborah has been a tutor for our daughter who has Downs syndrome for several months now and honestly I wish we had started this process a long time ago. She has great boundaries and challenges her while also being so patient and understanding. She is always on time and we saw progress very quickly after their time together. We would recommend her for anyone.
