About Debbie

I am a 20 year veteran elementary and special educator with a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction. As a lifelong learner, I love learning and I will enjoy working with your student to grow or instill a love a learning in them, too. I have extensive training in evidence-based reading practices, UDL, inquiry based learning for math, and special education. I am well-versed on various interventions and teaching strategies to support learners of all levels. It is essential to teach executive functioning skills while strengthening a student's confidence in their ability to acquire new knowledge. It is critical to get to know my students to serve their individual needs. I incorprate visual schedules and other tools to strengthen engagement, autonomy, and agency. I'm flexible based on participation, student affect, and how learning is progressing. In my spare time, I like to read, take walks with my dog, Woody, go boating, travel, spend time with family and friends, and craft. .
