I am a 52-year-old woman who has been working with seniors for over 15 years. My most recent client was a wonderful woman who was struggling with Alzheimer's. I was able to get her out socially as well as help her get physical activity and go to appointments and errands. I also helped another great woman who had ALS. She was confined to a wheelchair and my work involved the use of a Hoyer lift, several transfers throughout the day, meal prep, and errand running. I have worked with seniors in the past at a couple of local gyms which I was a personal trainer for. Though I was not restricted to working with the elderly, I found that they provided the most satisfying aspect to the job. Some were in need of help with training, others were in need of company. I currently am doing on-call massage and looking for some more steady hours.
