My BA degree is in Liberal Studies for Elementary Education and I have significant coursework and training in Early Childhood Ed./Child Development. In addition to having extensive experience caring for and educating infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children, I have taught Kindergarten and schooled children in their homes. Debbie exceeded all our expectations. She home schooled my 6 year old for Kindergarten (not enrolled in remote learning). She brought a ridiculous level of patience when he struggled with Covid-based loneliness and acting out in long dramatic tantrums. She brings the same patience with our 2 year old, focusing on teaching them age-appropriate emotional intelligence and communicating about their feelings. It helps so much. She builds education into games without letting the kids know. For example, they built a restaurant/store which integrated skills like counting money and calculating change, reading the menu, writing the specials board, sorting, and taking orders. They also built the fridge & stove from cardboard boxes. When she's not being a modern Mary Poppins, she also helps around the house when she can. She involves the kids in clean-up that actually makes the house much cleaner! She's organized all their toys to help with clutter. It's been amazing. You'd be lucky to have her.
