This caregiver worked with our family caring for an elderly adult with limited ability to care for himself. There were a few times we experienced reliability issues during his employment, but he did such a great job otherwise that we were consistently flexible and overlooked them. On his last scheduled shift, he left his client unsupervised when relief was two minutes late, rather than waiting or notifying someone. When addressed, he became hostile and blamed the family. He then resigned immediately via text, abandoning all remaining scheduled shifts with no notice. The only reason I cannot give 1 star is because prior to this incident, Dean made genuine efforts to connect with the client and was otherwise a good caregiver. Unfortunately, this final interaction has left a bad taste, and I believe families seeking dependable, professional care for a vulnerable adult should weigh this carefully before hiring.
