About Dawn

Hello! I'm back to tutoring after a three year return to the classroom! With a Bachelor's and Master's degree in education, I am well qualified! I specialize in helping K-3rd graders. These foundational years are critical to a child's success! Some students need extra support during these critical years, and that's OK! This past school year, my third grade class was in the TOP 5% of growth IN THE NATION on the MAP Reading test and in the TOP 20% of growth IN THE NATION on the MAP Math test. These percentages are out of over 1. 2 milllion third graders who took the tests. This was not accomplished in a high achieving school, but in a low performing Title 1 School, where many students came to me two to three years below grade level. I have 20+ years of classroom teaching and five years of tutoring experience, and I am trained in the Science of Reading. I work with students who attend school, as well as homeschoolers. Weekly costs are determined by amount of hours/days.
