About Dawn

I like working with kids because all children are a joy in their own unique way. I love having the opportunity to meet new kids and learn about their personalities along with how they view the world. I also like being a positive role model to kids. I started working with kids when I was in college. I taught private music lessons to some students at a local high school. After that experience I had the opportunity to work at a fine arts summer camp for several years. It was because of that camp that I truly developed a joy for working with kids and decided to become a music teacher. I have been teaching middle school band for 8 years now and love it! In my spare time, I like to read, run with my two dogs, take my children hiking, go camping, kayaking. Basically anything outdoors, I love to do! I also enjoy playing board games or coming up with fun activities around the house for my kids and I to do when the weather isn't pleasant enough to be outside.
