Hi, my name is Dawn. I have 10 plus years experience caring for children; infants, 2's, 3's and 4's. I believe children learn through play and positive reinforcement. I enjoy engaging children in various activities; science, cooking, arts, or anything that interests your child. Dawn is a knowledgeable and responsible preschool teacher. As the former Director, I had the pleasure of supervising her from 2008-2011 at a preschool where Dawn was a preschool teacher in the 2-year-old classroom. Dawn showed enthusiasm and dedication for education and lesson planning. Her strengths were creating unique and creative activities for the children and was successful for applying our Reggio-inspired "Playing to Learn" curriculum to each activity. She had wonderful communication with parents, updating them on their child's day and progress. She has experience with parent-teacher conferences, potty training, lesson planning and developmental-evaluation assessments. In addition, she was Lead Teacher in the 2's class from 2009-2011, supervising, training and evaluating 2 co-teachers as well as 24 children. She is knowledgeable in state licensing requirements and participated in our Annual Campaign where she helped raised money to fund other YMCA programs for the under privileged. When observing Dawn in the classroom, one can immediately see her passion and love of teaching!

Dawn H. was a teacher for both my daughter and son at the YMCA preschool.  She had each of them for one year in the classroom.  She helped my kids transition into the preschool as it was their first time in an all-day program.  They instantly bonded with her caring, creative and encouraging personality.  Ms. H. took the time to go out of her way to send parent emails each week that had pictures of each parent's kids participating in activities in the classroom.  As a working parent missing out on some of their day, it was comforting to see my kids were having a great time and be able to share in some of their joys.  Ms. H. was one of our favorite teachers in the classroom and even though it was hard to be away from our kids, we completely trusted her and knew our kids were in good hands.  When we picked them up, they were always happy!  I highly recommend Ms. H. for any position in childcare and am pleased to provide this reference.

To whom it may concern:

We have had Dawn as our personal Nanny for several months now. Prior to this we had the privilege of her being our son's Pre-school Teacher.  We are re-enrolling our son in Pre-school and so our need for her services will be less, however, when she is free we will always continue to use her and quite frankly she has become a part of our family.  Our-four-year old son just adores her and is extremely excited every time he knows it is a "Dawn Day" :)  My husband and I highly recommend Dawn. She is very energetic, friendly and FUN! She has a very gentle, calm and nurturing personality. She is truly passionate about working with children and is qualified for any age. Being a wonderful Mother herself she has the experience! Dawn is very dependable it is very rare to find all the wonderful qualities she has wrapped up into one person. We entrust her with our son in EVERY aspect of care. Dawn is an incredibly intuitive and compassionate caretaker who can adapt her care to the needs of the children that she cares for. I knew Dawn while both my daughters attended a daycare facility and despite the ratio of 1:8, Dawn gave exemplary care and attention to all her students. My girls loved their first school experience because of Dawn and we couldn't have asked for a more experienced and loving caretaker and teacher for our children. We trust Dawn completely! Any parent and child would be lucky to have her as their caretaker!

I worked along side Dawn in a preschool. As a preschool teacher Dawn is very well educated in early childhood education. I learned a lot from her in regards to developmentally appropriate activities for the toddler age group. Besides knowing how to help children learn skills (fine motor, gross motor, self regulation, expression, etc.), she's a wonderful person with a giving heart.

Dawn was a preschool teacher and babysitter for our son and daughter. We have known her for 4 years now and she taught both of our kids for over a year. She was their first teacher when both were 2 years old and made their transition from home to school much easier. Our kids are two years apart and knowing she would be there to help our daughter transition to school like she did for our son was such a comfort to us.
