About Dawnette

We worked with Dawnette for 3.5 weeks while our full time nanny was traveling this summer. Our 13-month old daughter was taken with her from the moment she came to interview with our family, and their bond was immediate after the first day together. Dawnette is kind, energizing, attentive and loving towards our daughter; it is truly a joy to witness them in each other's company, and if we were not already committed to our full time help, we would have permanently hired her on the spot. Beyond the beautiful presence she has, Dawnette is an absolute pleasure to work with. Each day, she set the day's agenda based on the weather and any classes or commitments we had previously made – their days together were filled with a perfect balance of outdoor time, library outings and music classes, with expertly-planned breaks for meals, snacks and a nap. Dawnette was always fully engaged with our daughter, constantly singing songs and telling stories, and would give full reports on the details of the day before leaving again each evening. She is positive, friendly, reliable and organized...really everything you could hope for in your child's caregiver. In the brief time they spent together, our daughter began walking, learned to identify her head, eyes, nose, etc., advanced her utensil usage, expanded her limited vocabulary and better understood boundaries. While some of this is natural developmental progress, we 100% credit Dawnette with her undeniable influence in helping to develop these skills and nudge towards educational milestones.
