As a young man I was fortunate to be able to help and spend quality time with both of my elderly grandmothers. It was a privilege and extremely gratifying; I have such wonderful memories from those days. In the years since, I've had many friendships and spent time with seniors, whether they were neighbors, friends' parents or extended family members. In 2017 my elderly parents asked me to be their full-time caregiver. I moved them here from the Midwest and set them up in a rental home near me. My father passed in 2020, so I now serve as caregiver for my mother. In addition to giving her love and friendship, I take care of her home, prepare meals, run errands, grocery shop, schedule and take her to doctor appointments, care for her when she's sick or not feeling well, and hang out with her to keep her company. She's still fairly independent, so I have time to help other seniors in need on a part-time basis. I look forward to sharing my love and experience with a new friend.
