About Darya

Empowering students to reach their full potential is at the heart of my teaching philosophy. I'm currently Tulane University student pursuing a dual degree in Psychology and Piano Performance on the pre-med track, and I graduated high school with a 4. 3 weighted GPA. I was also honored to receive the Esmond Phelps Scholarship at Tulane. With two years of tutoring experience, I focus on building confidence and creating a genuine love for learning rather than simple memorization. I also volunteer as a math teacher at a school in New Orleans, which has taught me to tailor teaching style to each learners needs through visual explanations, step-by-step problem solving, and interactive discussion. As both a musician and pre-med student, I understand the importance of patience, discipline, and adaptability. Whether we are working through math, science, or music, I find the most rewarding part of teaching is seeing a student gain confidence and finally have that "aha" moment.
