About Darline

Since 2023, Darline has been caring for my 76-year-old husband who is paraplegic and has serious health issues. We can’t speak highly enough about her contribution to our family’s well-being. Darline is caring, personable, energetic, strong and willing to do whatever is needed, and a joy to be around. She currently provides us with 11 hours of care per week, taking on many of the personal care/nursing responsibilities that were becoming overly difficult for me, including transfers between bed and wheelchair, help with showering, dressing, catheter care, etc. The only thing she shies away from is giving shots (which is fine, because that’s something I can readily do)! And whenever she isn’t taking care of personal care needs, she looks for other ways to help us with home care (meals, laundry, bedmaking, cleaning). Above all, what we most value is the friendship between Darline and our family. My husband loves going on walks (using his power wheelchair) around town with Darline, exploring new places and shopping. A strong mutual trust has developed between the two of them, in which I certainly share. Last but not least, Darline is extremely reliable and punctual. If any scheduling changes or hiatus in care are needed, she will provide ample notice, and she works with us if, for instance, my husband is in the hospital during her scheduled hours. Darline knows how to roll with the punches! All she asks for in return is courtesy and consideration. I strongly recommend Darline to those who are seeking a kind and highly competent person to meet their needs. My only caveat is that we hope to maintain dibs on her time if we need to increase her hours! Our deepest gratitude goes to Darline.
