About Darla

I am a mother of 3, aged 30, 28, and 19. I began in home care in 1991 for a period of 3 years. Later, in Austin, TX, I accepted work in a Children's Academy November of 1996 and worked in the infant room for 6 months, then moved to the Pre-K class. I have been a Pre-K teacher since then. There was a break in my Pre-K work for 5 years while I worked at a High School with students who have emotional and behavioral disorders. I feel this work greatly enhanced my skills in the area of early childhood education. I love my work with children and find it greatly rewarding. I find that no matter where I am, I gravitate toward children and their care. I have continued in early childhood education, working with 2 1/2 to 3-year-olds in late 2013 and back with advanced pre-k January of 2014 to present. I am seeking a new adventure in building a relationship with just one family. I feel I would be in a position to better serve the child and family. I believe focusing on your family exclusively would create a richer experience for both the child and myself. I look forward to meeting you and your family very soon.
