About Darin

Hello! My name is Darin and I'm a 28-year-old female who just moved to Portland from the Washington D. C. area. I have been nannying for babies and kids of all ages since I was 13. I have always loved children and I am empathetic, kind, nurturing and patient. I love to be active outside and I always encourage kids to do the same when I watch them. I love to read and I always offer to read to children or encourage children to read if they are old enough. I love to be creative and I try to inspire kids to use their creativity and imagination as much as possible. I volunteered at the Smithsonian Natural History Museum where I worked with elementary school kids teaching them about different science topics including geology, dinosaurs, ecosystems and ancient cultures. We encouraged kids to look closely at different artifacts and use their imagination and inquisitive skills to figure out what they might be.
