About Darcy

Hi! My Name is Darcy and I just moved to Portland, Maine this July. I moved from Vermont, where I was a caregiver for a year at Shard Villa, a level three residential facility! As a caregiver, my number one responsibility was to provide our residents with the best care. During the night shift while all the residents slept, it was hard to achieve this goal through ways such as companionship. As a result, at night, one way I contributed to providing the best care was by completing housekeeping! While working overnight shifts, I did laundry, organized and threw out old food, cleaned fridges, and sanitized all kitchen surfaces. While in the kitchen, I also washed dishes, and restocked all essential kitchen items. I also cleaned the dining room every night, where I changed the linens, sanitized the table and chairs, and threw out old flowers. Lastly, in the communal bathrooms, I cleaned the mirrors, sinks, toilets, and showers. In all rooms, I swept, mopped, vacuumed, and dusted!
