About Dani

I began caring for children at 11 years old. It has always been a very natural role for me and enjoyable work. I have 4 grown children (and 3 grandchildren) of my own. I was fortunate to be able to home educate them for more than 20 years. I also hosted a co-op that included up to 8 other children of all ages, several with learning challenges and on the autism spectrum. I have several years experience as an elementary school garden educator. I was on staff at a community garden for many years, helping families (many new immigrants) set up and maintain productive garden plots and build relationships with other members. I also have experience providing end of life and elder care, so there is no age of human (and most animals!) that I'm not very comfortable caring for. In all these positions I value the relationships most- the trust and mutual respect that is built when someone relies on me for support, guidance or everyday care. -BA in public health, minor in psychology -Previous CPR
