As I reflect back on this journey and I ask myself what I am looking for in a caregiver (now that I actually know what I am doing), for me it comes down to three simple needs. I need someone who is dependable. I need someone who is caring. I need someone who will work with me as part of a team to provide the best possible care. Well, I am telling you right now, Dan gets A+++ ratings in all three areas. Many caregivers would show up late or some not at all. Dan was Mr. Reliable. Some caregivers looked like they would rather be anywhere else in the world than helping my dad and were not engaged it made me feel guilty that I could not just stay up 24 hours every day and do the care myself. Dan was like my dad's best friend from day one. They would watch ball games together and talk and Dad always was more relaxed and happy after a Dan shift. I could fill this page up with rave reviews but it limits me. So let me just say, Hire Dan it is the best move you can make.
