I am familiar with all levels of need and can provide ADL and. social support (without infringing on your loved-one's sense of independence), hygiene care, fall prevention and wheelchair transfers . I love to cook and can accommodate specific diets. I can assist with feeding/tube feeding and medication dispensing. I personally cared for my mother in law and grandmother during their final years. The experience I gained in that time was more than I could ever gain in the workforce. I've realized the importance of not treating one like a patient but like a human being, with respect, patience and dignity. I've learned to stand by without hovering, to assist without taking over, to be kind and unaffected if they aren't well enough to reciprocate, to redirect when needed or back off. I love what I do and truly believe it shows in my work.
