About Dana

Hi, I'm Dana, and I have been tutoring for over 10 years! Since earning my Bachelor's Degree in English (minor in Teaching) at U. C. Davis, I have taught English grammar, reading and writing in classrooms, small groups and one-on-one settings to a wide variety of ages and abilities. My students have ranged from young, emergent readers, to ESL students, to special-needs students, to high-achieving high schoolers wanting to take their writing skills to the next level. I tailor my lessons to fit what each individual student needs, and I value the opportunity to work with students of diverse backgrounds. Overall, my greatest goal is to help students reach their potential and enjoy learning. I understand that one size does not fit all for education, and this was especially clear to me as I homeschooled my own three children for 7 years. I try to season my tutoring sessions with humor and positivity so that your student will never feel intimidated but always feel encouraged and engaged.
