Hi families, my name is Dakota. I've been away from nannying for several years, but I'm ready to jump back in during my breaks from school. I have four years of experience as a nanny, working with ages ranging from 6 months to 15 years old. I like to come up with fun, educational crafts for children to enjoy, as well as getting out for outside activity and adventures. I believe in creativity and self expression for the children I care for, and want to help them explore and identify their feelings rather than simply tell them what to do and how to feel. I'm a fan of the gentle parenting method, and in my care as a nanny that looks like acknowledging the child as a whole and complex human being, while also setting boundaries and developing valuable life skills.

Dakota is an excellent caregiver! They've taken great care of our 3 month old. It took the baby some time to warm up to them, and Dakota was patient through the fussiness. They're very receptive to our goals and have helped us transition the baby, who loves a contact nap, to napping alone as well. They sing and dance with the baby, which I can tell she enjoys and I think older children would have a ton of fun with them. They also make sure our little one does her tummy time and works on her development through play during her wake windows. As an anxious new mom, I was worried about leaving her with someone new, but I haven't felt anxious leaving the house when Dakota is with her.
