I love doing what I do. I have worked the last 12 years taking care of Adult with Mental Retardation. It's such a rewarding job. A little about myself: I have worked full-time the last 12 years for a group home for adults with mental retardation. I loved my job and the people I took care of. My duties included everything from getting them out of bed, bathing, brushing teeth to preparing food, meal prep and assist in feeding, as well as transporting and cleaning. Around 4 years ago my husband and I had decided to check out Foster Care. We have now been certified as Foster Parents for the state of Kentucky for 4 years now. We absolutely love it. I feel as if it was what I was meant to do in life. I am very reliable, trustworthy and dependable.

I am regaining control over my household clutter and neglect. Cindy came in with a wonderful spirit to help me clean. She started in the kitchen and scrubbed and scrubbed. She's coming back this week to make more progress- in other words, my clutter and grime did not scare her away! Once we get the initial cleaning completed, I hope she'll continue to come regularly to help keep it from getting in that shape again. -Marla
