My experience working with consumers with intellectual disabilities is very rewarding and always a challenge. I have worked as a DSP for 3 years in a home setting of 12 or more consumers who all have different disabilities from autism, aspergers, non verbal,& behaviors. Some of my tasks as a direct support professional was lifting, feeding using hoyers ADLs, leisure companionship, administered medications to 12 consumers, I also am I PCA , I have taken care of consumers of all ages with ADHD autism def non verbal, I am a dedicated person who is a fast learner with lots of experience under my belt.
