About Colleen

My passion is helping others. I am reliable, compassionate and kind. I enjoy creating conversation with seniors and simply brightening their day. I started caring for seniors when I retired from my 30 year teaching career. Upon retiring I worked as a Patient Care Assistant /Nurse Aide in a rehab hospital for 2 years. I assisted the nursing staff and therapists with a variety of different tasks. Tasks included ambulating patients from bed /chair to bathroom, taking vital signs, bathing and dressing individuals. Currently, I care for a number of individuals each having different needs. I enjoy creating conversation and making them feel valued, important and loved. I have experience caring for individuals with Alzheimer's disease. I provide appropriate activities that include transportation to the local senior center, bowling, out for ice cream or a walk in the park. I assist in baking cookies, playing card games, cooking, cleaning and putting puzzles together.
