About Clarissa

I have been working with kids for over 10 years, as a swim instructor, camp counselor, in schools and, of course, as a nanny. Experienced with ages 1-17, while my favorite thing to do with kids is have fun, I also have a background in behavioral management and emotional regulation. My childcare philosophy is rooted in giving kids the tools and confidence to be safely independent. To me, this means creating a supportive environment where your little one feels ready to try new things, even if they're scary! I am great with homework help, a pretty good cook, and more than happy to help tidy up around the house. I graduated from Sarah Lawrence College in the Spring of 2022, where I studied theater, writing and art history. I made the move from my hometown of Portland, Maine to Brooklyn in 2023. In my free time I love to read, play guitar, and tell jokes (I do a bit of comedy!) If you think I would be a good fit for your family I am more than happy to provide references!
