About Clara

Hello! My name is Clara. I specifically have experience with children who have special needs and am most familiar with with Down's syndrome, autism and ostomy bags, but I am more than willing to learn and adapt to the needs of most any child. I care deeply for the safety and wellbeing of children, and I will do everything in my power to assure that their sense of safety and happiness is protected. I've worked with kids for most of my life. I helped to raise my little brother who has Down's syndrome and other health issues that needed constant attention. I became very attuned with this caregiving role and was able to provide him with assistance in his medical treatment and wellbeing that he otherwise might not have had access to. I learned how to communicate with kids outside of the scope of language and know how to engage with children who have difficulty speaking. I have done other babysitting roles here and there and have volunteered in schools helping to teach students literature.
