Claire was our afternoon nanny for seven months in Washington DC, and we have not found anyone like her since. She was a wonderful communicator, always keeping us in the loop about how the afternoon went and flagging things we needed to know. She was firm and fair with our kids, which is a hard balance to strike. They respected her, and she handled the tough moments well: when they didn't feel up for an activity, she knew how to work through it without a fight. She was also completely proactive. She planned fun outings, kept the kids engaged, and noticed things around the house that needed attention before we did. She was mature enough to share thoughtful observations about the kids and what they needed, which we valued a lot. She treated our home as if it were her own and was consistently responsible and respectful of the space. On top of all that, she's genuinely skilled in the kitchen and handled meal prep with ease. She's also great with pets, even a mischievous puppy! We have worked with dozens of babysitters over the years and none have matched Claire. We miss her, and our kids still ask about her. We recommend her without reservation.
