Claire worked for me last year taking care of my daughter after school. My daughter is 10 years old, has Down Syndrome, ADHD, and limited verbal communication skills -- i.e., she is a handful. She can be sweet and engaging, but also stubborn and at times quite challenging to deal with. With her warm, upbeat, yet gentle personality, Claire was able to connect with my daughter, handle behavioral challenges and create fun experiences for her. Claire picked my daughter up from school in my car, took her to after school activities and developed her own agenda when there were no planned activities. I'm a single working mom (professor at a university). I needed someone skilled in working with children and whom I could trust completely. Claire had both of those qualities. She was completely reliable, worked well independently, and could be trusted with the health and safety of a child who could not report back to me if anything went wrong. I know Claire has had experience working in camps and with other children, and her skills reflected that. Moreover, with her positive energy and steady manner, Claire was the kind of person I wanted my daughter to be spending time with. If Claire were still in our area, I would hire her again in a heartbeat. I highly recommend her with no reservations at all.
