Hello, my name is Claire! I'm a Seattle native and the youngest of four. My older sister, Emily, has Down Syndrome and severe autism, and growing up I helped care for her. This involved bathing, dressing, feeding, giving medication, and supporting her daily needs. I currently work as an environmental consultant but am seeking a career change to support the disability community. I'm considering going back to school for ABA, OT, or speech pathology and hope to gain experience with children beyond my sister. I understand both the challenges and joys of caregiving, such moments of resistance, like Emily refusing to get off the bus, and moments of pure happiness, like her swinging on the play set for hours. I also know how important the right caregiver is. I want to be someone who actively engages your child through outings, community interaction, and life-skill development. While new to nannying, I bring a lifetime of caregiving experience and look forward to supporting your family.
