I have been working in education and childcare for over 7 years- in that time, I've gotten to know and learn from youth of many different backgrounds, temperaments, and abilities. I have been training in and studying disability-informed education for 3 years and have been working in special education for 1 year. While I have worked with youth of all ages (1. 5 years old - 19 years old) most of my work in special education has been with neurodivergent children ages 5-10. I work from a neurodiversity-affirming lens that is as much focused on creating a world better adapted to those living with disabilities as it is on helping disabled individuals build strategies to thrive in a world that has largely not been designed with them in mind. I work with all youth using a strengths-based, social-emotional learning framework that focuses on empowerment and self-advocacy to help them show up as the best and most vibrant versions of their true selves.
