Experience: 10 yrs
Making a positive impact on the lives of others is my passion. For the past 10 years, I've dedicated myself to providing compassionate and reliable care to adults and seniors. My experience includes respite care, transportation, personal care, light housekeeping, meal preparation, and mobility assistance. I also have experience providing hospice services, dementia care, and medical management. I adapt to changing routines, handle confusion with patience, and incorporate memory care activities. I communicate with families through daily reports, regular text updates, or their preferred method. Respecting a client's independence is essential to me. I have a car, I'm comfortable with pets, and I am eager to help your family. Knowing I can bring comfort and peace of mind to those I care for makes my work truly fulfilling.
Cheryl is compassionate, knowledgeable, and responsible and is passionate about her work as a caregiver. My mother lived alone, and when we first hired Cheryl, my mother immediately felt at ease with her, enjoyed her company, and looked forward to seeing her. My mother developed dementia, which worsened over the 4 years Cheryl cared for her. Cheryl coped with each new stage of the illness and also dealt with my mother's increasing physical infirmities. As my mother's needs increased, Cheryl took on all aspects of her care: feeding, bathing, dressing, medications, etc. Cheryl also monitored her health, identified when she needed medical care, and took over when there were various medical emergencies that led to hospitalization. Cheryl visited my mother in the hospital to reassure her, worked with hospital staff to ensure she received the care she needed, and coordinated her return home. Through it all, Cheryl did everything she could to keep my mother's mind active and engaged: working with her on jigsaw puzzles, getting her involved in art projects, and taking walks and drives. Cheryl alerted us when it was time to register my mother for palliative care, and eventually for hospice care at home. Cheryl was a pillar of strength for the family as she cared for my mother in her final weeks and hours. Cheryl truly became a member of our family and treated our mother as she would treat her own. We were impressed with her knowledge and her resourcefulness in finding ways to meet my mother's needs. We trusted her completely and knew our mother was in good hands and receiving loving care. In short, you won't find a better caregiver than Cheryl.
