This situation is incredibly frustrating, and I want to clearly explain what led us here. Cheryl helped our family for a period of time. During that time, there were several agreed-upon responsibilities that were not consistently followed through on, including taking our mom out once a week for a social activity and helping with meals. There were also occasions when she would tell us she needed time off with little notice, which at times left us scrambling to cover care. The reason I’m writing this now is due to how her departure was handled. Our parent was hospitalized for two weeks over Christmas. During that time, we paid Cheryl . When we asked if she would be returning afterward, she told us yes. Based on that confirmation, we did not seek additional help, believing she would be coming back. Now it is Saturday at 9:00 p.m., and we have just been informed that she will not be returning on Monday. This last-minute notice has left us in a very difficult position, especially given everything our family has already been managing. This isn’t about blame — it’s about the reality of being left without care, with almost no time to make other arrangements.
