About Josey
Experience: 6 yrs
My passion for childcare and teaching started 9 years ago when I became a lifeguard/swim instructor with the city of Phoenix. I learned life saving skills including CPR/AED, first aid, emergency detection, etc., and also formed a proficient work ethic. After 3 years in Phoenix, I began senior year in Tucson while working as a Tutor/babysitter. After graduation, at 17 years old, I became closing lead instructor at Saguaro Aquatics. A year later I sought other skills, becoming a barista, helping open the first NW Tucson Dutch Bros while taking a RBT course to learn ABA therapy in order to implement it in my teaching. I took a second job instructing at Demont Family Swim School, but my time was cut short due to COVID and I moved to Chicago 8/2020. I worked in service industry learning more about myself and just how strong my work ethic is. In 2022 I began instructing again, honing my skills speaking to and teaching children.

I interviewed Josey over the phone and I immediately enjoyed her easy going and fun vibe. She arrived right on time which allowed me to get right out the door and off to work. She is a swim instructor and took the kids swimming at our local pool. She even stayed for a bit after I got home to finish the game she had started with the kids. Here is what the kids had to say, "She is really fun and active! I liked the way she talked to us because it was really cool." J. age 13. "She was nice and really chill.
