I have a considerable amount of experience caring for others, including those needing specialized care relating to mental illness. Following many years in social services, I shifted to elder care, specifically memory issues. I obtained additional training in alzheimers and dementia care. I moved this experience to a private household, assisting a woman through her memory and dementia decline. I found I work very well with those afflicted with memory issues and have a great deal of patience. I am very engaging, and I find a sense of humor makes most rough situations easier. I consider myself to be quite compassionate and easygoing. I am very flexible with my hours, and I would consider a live-in situation if the right one came along. References provided upon request.
