About Cherie

I have found my niche working with adolescents with behavior difficulties, but enjoy caring for all children. While raising my three children and two step-sons, I also worked and returned to school for a degree in Psychology and Justice Studies. I am currently enrolled in a Master's program. While raising my children, I was employed at a nanny agency helping families find their providers. Through this work, I also began helping families with childcare for their temporary needs. I was fortunate enough when my son was born to find a wonderful provider who cared for him in her home. This moved me to later open my home to care for children for a few years. I enjoy outdoor activities with children year round, and consider myself fairly active. I don't believe in days spent watching television with children I am caring for, but am not opposed to cartoons or movies when the kids are relaxing or sick. I tend to follow the family's lead in this area. I love books and reading and enjoy sharing this activity. I can be silly, fun, and spontaneous, but believe that structure and consistency are important for long term arrangements.
