About Chelsea

Hello! My name is Chelsea! I recently started to work for UMKC's Institute for Human Development as an Early Childhood Quality Specialist. My previous position was the Art Coordinator for an early childhood learning center in Kansas City. I spent my days facilitating process based art activities for children 8 weeks-5 years old. That being said, I love facilitating play that allows children to express their creativity. I have my Bachelor's degree in music therapy. I have 3 years experience as a preschool teacher and I completed an AmeriCorps year of service as a Pre-K literacy tutor. I have also worked as a full-time nanny for two different families and babysat for dozens of families in the last 12 years. I am CPR Certified and have a clean background check. I can provide documentation for both. I am trained in Conscious Discipline and am passionate about Social-emotional and play based learning. I love dogs, baking and spending time outside. I am fully vaccinated.
