About Charyl

For 20 years, I home schooled three sons and a daughter in our registered home school in North Carolina. My children are grown now, and faced with a variety of career choices. I have decided that caring for children is the job I have loved most in my life. I have found nothing that is more challenging and satisfying in the work realm. Since I am naturally a very creative, imaginative person, I find it easy to relate to children. Like children, I have a curiosity and love for learning. I am an avid reader and nature enthusiast. I agree with Richard that children should experience the world firsthand by spending a lot of time outdoors, as he encouraged in his book, "Last Child In the Woods." To this day, my grown children and I have fond memories of exploring nature together. I have been employed as a nanny for several different families since 2010. I have experience caring for children from birth - 12 years. (Pets - dogs are fine but I'm allergic to cats) I live in Bonita Springs, FL

We found some great candidates when we were looking for a nanny for our 1.5 year old son, but Charyl was head and shoulders above--her past experience as a nanny with kids our son's age and with homeschooling were both huge pluses. We've had her almost a month, and she's been awesome with our son. She takes him out to parks and for walks around lakes, she's creative, patient, and believes in lots of independent play. He's really taken with her and is happy to see her when she comes each morning. We're so happy with our decision, which was a big one for us as she's our first nanny (he was previously taken care of by his grandparents). Charyl is a great choice.
