This is a criminal background check required for all caregiver before they can message families.
Experience: 4 yrs
What I bring to caregiving goes beyond the tasks- it's genuine warmth and humor, a calm steadiness in the hardest moments, and the emotional depth to support not just my client, but the whole family. I'm a loving, self-starting presence who can walk into any situation and see what needs to be done. My background in counseling gives me an emotional toolkit that allows me to hold space for the complicated feelings that can arise for families in a caregiving situation. My experience includes dementia, chronic illness, post-surgical recovery, mobility assistance (inc. Hoyer lift), catheter care, and hospice. End-of-life care holds a special place in my heart -- it is an honor to walk alongside someone through that transition with grace and dignity. I'm equally energized supporting a client in staying active and engaged with life. I'm not looking to job-hop, I want to find the right family and stay. If you're looking for someone who will love your person like their own - I'm your caregiver!
Charis actually deserves a 6-star rating if that were possible. She took fantastic care of my wife who was 100% disabled and in a power chair. She fed, bath roomed, medicated and generally took care of her as if my wife was her mother for about a year and until my wife’s passing. She was here the day she died. She also read to my wife as well as kept her company. Charis has a heart of gold, is even tempered, funny, well spoken, insightful, intelligent, and innovative. Whenever a problem would arise, she was in the middle of the brainstorming to solve it. I have a lot of confidence in her and would ask her opinion on many topics. I absolutely recommend Charis and she is still employed by me to help declutter the house.
