I have been babysitting since the age of 12. I started out as a mother's helper in Bedford, New York for a 1-year-old girl and a 5-year-old girl. This entailed keeping the children busy while their parents were working in their studio upstairs and also included nights when I would stay home with the children alone, prepare meals for them and put them to bed. When I moved to NYC to go to college, I started babysitting a 10-year-old boy. I would pick him up from school every day and bring him to the library to do homework or to the park to play after school, depending on his homework situation. I have also babysat for a 2-year-old boy which included picking him up from school, taking him to the park, preparing meals for him and occasionally putting him to bed. I have babysat for young brothers, two and four while their parents have left the house for various dates and dinners, and kept an eye on then while their parents were having parties.
